All of us at All Pets Considered are
very sorry to tell you that our beloved Ginger died on Saturday, November
19th. He jumped
down from his cage into the path of a dog. He died instantly and did not
suffer. We are all going to miss him so much. Ginger was 13 years old
and had been a large piece of the All Pets Considered pie for more than 12
of those years.
He had an extremely full and happy
life and was loved by many. Quite a few people would stop by just to see
Ginger. Some said they needed a Ginger fix and visiting with him would
brighten up their day. He truly was the Director of Human Relations. He
was our greeter, chirping when anyone came through the door. Ginger
enjoyed rides on shoulders and his wolf whistles made the day for so many
folks. He would crack us up whistling along to certain songs.
Ginger was a very special bird, one
in a million. It was an awful accident and no one is to blame. Ginger
met his demise because of a bad habit he had of jumping down to the
carpet. Sometimes he would chase after a favorite customer, and other
times he just wanted to go for a stroll. We never encouraged it and he
temped fate many times. If we had kept him locked up, he would have been
a very different bird and the things we loved about Ginger would have been
missing. We were lucky to have such an incredible bird as part of our All
Pets Considered family.
It will not be the same without
Ginger, but he left us with so many memories. If you have any to share,
you can e-mail us at
apc@allpetsconsidered. We will take your thoughts and post them on
this page, Thoughts of Ginger.
