Slim 38™ Formula
For Adult Cats Who Are Prone to Obesity |
Sterilization and
lack of exercise can contribute to weight gain in the adult cat. The
best solution is the appropriate diet.
- L-carnitine in association with a higher protein level may
contribute to the mobilization of fat reserves without muscle loss.
- Fat contributes two and one-half more calories per volume than
protein.
Key Features:
 |
- L-CARNITINE & HIGH PROTEIN
To Lose Fat & Maintain Muscle
Physiological Concern:
Preservation of Muscle Mass During Weight Loss -
To ensure weight loss, the
cat must expend more energy (consuming fat reserves) to
metabolize protein, which has a lower yield by the cells.
Innovative Solution: L-carnitine &
High Protein -
L-carnitine in association
with a higher protein level contributes to the utilization of
fat reserves without muscle loss.

- OPTIMAL CALORIE CONTENT
To Help Reach Optimal Weight
Physiological Concern: Reduced
Energy -
Sterilization, lack of exercise, and/or overfeeding may cause
weight gain in adult cats, consequently, making them more
sedentary. When excess weight is less than 30% over optimum
weight, the cat is considered overweight. When excess weight is
more than 30% over optimum weight, the cat is considered obese.
Excessive weight can attribute to other related pathologies such
as bone, joint and skeletal problems, diabetes, reproductive
disorders, skin problems, increased risk under anesthesia,
intolerance to hot temperatures, etc.
Innovative Solution: Optimal Calorie
Count (Limited Energy) -
The number one objective
is to satisfy the cat's appetite, while limiting the amount of
energy ingested. It is absolutely essential to weigh each cat
regularly to follow its weight curve properly. Weight loss
should be slow and ideally represent 1% of the cat's total
weight loss per week.

- HAIRBALL TRANSIT SYSTEM™
Balance of Fibers to Help
Facilitate Evacuation of Hairballs
Physiological Concern:
Prone to Hairballs -
Because overweight cats
are more sedentary, more time is devoted to grooming, which
increases the ingestion of hairballs.
Innovative Solution: Hairball
Transit System™ (Fiber Enrichment) -
Balanced fermentable and
non-fermentable fibers facilitate the swift evacuation of
hairballs.

Physiological Concern:
Risk of Struvite Stones

Recommended Feeding Guide
When changing your pet's diet, gradually mix food over a 5-7 day
period, increasing daily the amount of new food added so that 100% of
the new food will be provided to the pet by day seven.
Food may be served right out of the bag or moistened with water, if
desired. You may wish to leave a daily portion of dry cat food out and
available at all times so that cats may feed themselves. Always
remember to provide your pet with clean, fresh water at all times. For
your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary with age,
temperament, activity level and environment.
