The GIANT BREED nutrition program is adapted to the nutritional requirements of  giant breed dogs.

With superior palatability and digestibility, the GIANT BREED nutrition program provides giant breed dogs with all the essential nutrients, adapted to each life stage, to not only nutritionally help prevent the effects of early aging (joint and heart related dysfunction), but also minimize risks associated with a long growth period.

LARGE BREED Puppy and GIANT BREED Adult formulas will provide your giant breed dog with all the required nutrients from weaning to maturity.  Specific kibble size, shape and texture have been adapted for a giant breed's jaws and teeth.  Extremely digestible for optimal assimilation, the kibbles are very palatable, and meet the exact nutritional requirements of giant breed dogs.

During their growth, giant breed puppies multiply their birth weight 70-90 times.  They also need 14 to 18 months to fully develop.  This longer growth cycle involves higher risks of bone or joint cartilage disorders.  To meet their unique long growth cycle, giant breed puppies require specifically adapted nutrition: feeding them a diet that is too high in energy can accelerate growth without allowing enough time for proper bone and skeletal development.  They need a diet with a controlled amount of energy to limit rapid weight gains, with fructo-oligosaccharides (chicory extract) for maximum digestive safety and with balanced levels of calcium and phosphorus to promote optimal skeletal development.

Observation shows that giant dogs do not chew when eating, but literally vacuum giant volumes of food, up to several pounds in a few seconds.  This behavior can lead to digestive dysfunction.  That's why they need a different kibble that allows better chewing and slower food ingestion.  Also giant breed dogs are subject to the effects of early aging right from adulthood: joint sensitivity, heart and digestive troubles.  Maintaining their optimal health at adulthood should be a priority.  Research indicates that glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate, compounds naturally produced by the body, help maintain healthy joint cartilage.  Vitamin E and Vitamin C, key compounds with a natural antioxidant function in cells, help maintain giant breed dogs in optimal health throughout their entire life.  Also, a diet with an optimal amino-acid profile supports health and vitality.
